Flat Abs: How to Get a Flat Stomach
One of the major areas of the body that most people want to tone up and lose weight from is the abs. Flat abs are something that many people strive for, yet unfortunately it can be easy to give up if you don’t see quick results.
There are so many exercises that promise to help you to get flat abs quickly, but many of them are hard work and they offer very slow results. The good news is you don’t have to practically kill yourself to get flatter abs. There are ways in which you can tone your abdominal area in a healthy and easier way.First Things First – The Crunch Myth
One of the first things that you need to forget about is the crunch myth. Most Ab exercise workouts tell you that you need to do as many crunch exercises as possible. The logic behind this is fair enough – As you crunch you work the abdominal muscles and therefore it should tone up the area. Unfortunately what you will soon start to realize is that exercising a particular area of the body will not always help you to lose weight there. It is possible to lose weight in your arms, face and legs before you start to lose weight in your abdomen. So doing the same thing over and over again will not necessarily help you.
That isn’t to say that crunches aren’t helpful in helping you to get flatter abs. They can be, just as long as you take part in other exercise too.Foods That Help
Your diet is a major factor in how quickly you lose weight. We all know that we should be eating a healthy and balanced diet. However, what you may not realize is that some foods are better for helping you to lose abdominal fat than others.
Eggs are particularly good because they give us a high level of protein. This is essential if you are looking to build up muscle. Protein helps the body to produce muscle fibers and the more muscle you build, the more fat you will burn. Eggs are also great for keeping you fuller for longer. This reduces the likelihood that you will snack between meals which in turn will stop you from putting on additional weight.
Nuts are also great as they produce energy and again they limit your need to snack throughout the day. Almonds are particularly great as they contain a lot of magnesium. This is a mineral that the body needs in order to maintain and build muscle tissue. Another surprising fact about almonds is that they have the ability to block calories. So if you are looking to lose weight anywhere on the body almonds are definitely a good food to add into your daily diet.
The key to getting flatter abs is to eat a healthy diet and exercise the whole body. Try to add strength training to the whole body as this will really help. Cardio exercise is also great. If you do strength training, cardio exercise and you eat a healthy diet you should start to see great results pretty quickly.
