Best Smoothie Machines
Any blender can make simple protein shakes with protein powder and soft fruit like bananas. But if you want to make a delicious smoothie out of all kinds of fruits and vegetables a high-powered blender is the best.
What's the best smoothie maker? Blendtec and VitaMix are the two top brands. Both are excellent machines. My preference is the Blendtec and in another hub I've talked about the differences between a VitaMix and Blendtec Machine. I've owned both and like the Blendtec a bit better.
They do cost more than most blenders, but the VitaMix and Blendtec have much more power and are worth the extra cost. One of my friends recently purchased an upscale blender for $130. She was disappointed that it still couldn't crush ice.
She wanted to see what my machine would do to ice. The blades on the Blendtec Machine can go 300 miles per hour and that, my friend, turns ice into something that looks like snow. My friend left our home musing about how she was going to afford a machine.
If you don't have a high-powered machine, you can still make smoothies but you'll need to stick with fruits that are quite soft, like bananas and grapes. You can always start saving up to purchase a better machine later.
How To Make A Spinach Smoothie
Want a fast, easy and healthy breakfast? Try starting the day with a healthy whole food smoothie. We used to start the day with fruit smoothes. Now we combine lots of greens with the fruit for an extra nutritious drink.
Completely 'green' smoothies can be bitter tasting, but you'd be surprised how delicious they are when you add frozen or fresh fruit. I made a short video showing you how fast it is to make. If you use frozen pre-packaged fruit it's even faster. The video is below:

Make Your Own Spinach Ice Cream
In the short video above I mentioned a worship party where we served spinach ice cream for dessert. It's sounds horrible, but is actually quite delicious! Only one friend didn't want to try it, but after he heard everyone raving about how great tasting it was, he asked for the dessert.
Everyone at the party was quite surprised and most asked for seconds. You make it with about a cup of milk, lots of spinach, then about a cup or two of frozen fruit. That night we had frozen mango, strawberries and pineapple. I like to add flaxseed oil, protein powder and sometimes stevia or agave.
Other fun ice creams are lots of kale with frozen black berries or beet greens with frozen fruit. Again, I usually add the flax oil, protein powder and milk for the ice creams. In the Blendtec machine it comes out quite creamy. For good health, you're supposed to get 9 to 12 servings of fruits and vegetables. We figured out that with this ice cream, we were consuming about 4 servings of fruits and vegetables.
How fun... eating foods that taste this good and that are actually good for you at the same time!
